Default (aka index) page filename

When uploading pages you will need a default page or an index so that there is a page displayed instead of a directory listing. If your site, subdomain or directory is showing a directory listing instead of your website, you have not named your index properly. Keep in mind that index page file names are also case sensitive.

Below is a list of acceptable index file names. These are listed in priority, so the first ones listed would become the index before the last ones listed. This way you can have multiple indexes and remove/rearrange as needed.

index.htm
index.html
index.shtml
index.xhtml
index.wml
index.perl
index.pl
index.plx
index.ppl
index.cgi
index.jsp
index.js
index.jp
index.php4
index.php3
index.php
index.phtml
default.htm
default.html
home.htm
index.php5
Default.html
Default.htm
home.html
