Secure email (SSL)

These days more and more people are doing business over email, and more and more people are concerned about protecting their personal information. For this reason we offer POP3, IMAP and SMTP over SSL (secure socket layer).

If you would like to switch to SSL you will need to change two things:

1. You will need to change your incoming (POP3 or IMAP) and outgoing mail servers (SMTP) to your server name (Find your hostname), otherwise you will get certificate errors.
2. You will need to change your connection type to SSL, change it for both your incoming (POP3 or IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP).

Most email programs will automatically change the port for you, however if it does not, these are our SSL ports.

POP3 over SSL: 995
IMAP over SSL: 993
SMTP over SSL: 465

We also cover setting up your email over SSL in our email setup articles.
