Default address

In cPanel under email, you may have noticed a feature called Default Address.

What this basically does is allows anythingrandom @ yourdomain.com to be delivered to a specific address. This is a very bad idea, you leave yourself open to dictionary attacks and spoofing, so by default only addresses and forwarders will successfully be delivered to you. We have also disabled this function using the "No local address filter" in Spam ASSP. If you would like to use a default address or a domain forwarder (found in forwarders), you will need to disable that spam filter.

We've made this feature available because we don't want to limit what our users are capable of, however we highly recommend leaving the default address to a failure.
